About Us

Robbin E. Babcock founded Babcock Enterprises, Ltd. in 1975. The company operates out of its main office on Poags Hole Rd. in Dansville, NY. The company started mainly as a local paving and small job enterprise. A project for American Cablevision in 1980 was successful enough to give Babcock the capital necessary to expand. For the next 10 years Babcock grew steadily, mainly in heavy and highway construction for the NYSDOT and the many surrounding municipalities. In 1988, Mr. Babcock entered into a buy-sell agreement with Doug Acomb and Tom Leyden, who became the owners of Babcock upon his retirement. In 1990, LeChase Construction of Rochester, NY awarded Babcock Enterprises the site contract for their Livingston Correctional Facility project. Upon the completion of this project, Mr. Babcock entered into retirement.

Today, Babcock maintains its presence in the heavy and highway market but has had to broaden its focus to stay competitive in today's marketplace. Babcock employees and equipment can be seen regularly on projects within 100-mile radius of Dansville.

Babcock has always prided itself in its people. Babcock is:
